So 2012 is coming to an end. Not sure how to feel about it. Started the year in style with an awesome bunch of peeps from 1A29 & 2A23. Finished the year on a high with the Waterboys from Vietnam.
Did some silly things along the way. Made a few mistakes here and there. Got fucked for leaving SPOT, turned down by a girl in London and I had to say goodbye to a dear friend. 2012 has really been a rough year.
But it's also the year I restarted life in SCDF. Damn 42B RBn is awesome. My platoon's damn fun to work with. Doesn't hurt to have gotten a few awards along the way for good service. Hah good times man! Good times.
It's also the year I traveled overseas...ALOT. London, UK & Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam have been real eye openers. Feel so enriched with the culture, the history, the people and the environment. From liberal democracy to socialistic remnants, the world outside Singapore is just...wow.
I shed tears in May 2012 when my beloved FC Bayern lost in the Champions League final. Final Dahoam was a terrible fiasco. But I look forward to 2013 with enthusiasm that Bayern will prevail.
So cheers to 2013. & goodbye to 2012. Thank you for the memories. The joys and tears. And may 2013 herald a greater future for us all.
Auf Wiedersehen.
Vietnam was one hell of an experience. And I actually wanted to quit the program? Bloody hell thank goodness I didn't. It was 2 weeks of eye opening, stomach crunching and lungs filled with dust. All worth it.
Firstly that little girl at the remote school. We spent 1 freaking hour just to make her laugh. She refused. Only as we were about to leave did Andrick notice that she was smiling. We all just ran back just to grab a photo with the little one. Seeing her smile really...no words can describe that feeling.
Then there's that bunch of Singaporeans. Bloody hell I was so afraid of not fitting in but hell I did! We were nonsensical. Be it the breakfast club or the media club or even the water boys, they were great!
Of course there's the blood sucker who wants to suck my blood all the time. Hehe Kelly why you so violent??!!! SO CRAZY!!!!
Lastly is Phuong!!! I know she doesn't like me but she really change my perception of people. Love you pig! And I'm really sorry I lost your ring. I bought the replacement so that I'll never forget you!
I'm really surprised. Us Singaporeans have a terrible impression of the foreign talents. But seeing their country, their people, their environment? I can't help but feel proud seeing how these people seize the opportunity given to them.
So while we may be miles apart, our memories will keep us together. It's goodbye for now, but not forever.
Auf Wiedersehen!
It's not that I don't have time. It's more like... I dunno what to blog about. So anyways heading to Vietnam tomorrow. Had my birthday & MSTs too. Need to thank the soccer guys for letting me score 6 goals last week. & Veronica, Zach, Jessie & Vincent for getting me stuff or paying for stuff!
Not forgetting my dear Abibu for getting me choco pie! =) Happiness!!!!!!!
& she hasn't replied in over a week now. Technically I can call her but I won't.
SO this is my shoutout to you.
"I don't really know why you're suddenly not replying me. Maybe it's your boyfriend. Or maybe I annoyed you somehow. Or you're scared that I may fall for you? We've been through this right? We're friends and nothing more. You want nothing to happen & I've gotten so use to you already. So why are you doing this? I really mean nothing to you? I trusted you. Every time you cried I patiently waited for you. I knew you didn't want me to come guns blazing and hug you and all. So I always waited. Helplessly at times. Maybe I mean nothing to you. But you mean something to me. You asked if I had to choose you over another girl, I would pick you.
You were...like a girlfriend but a buddy but a best friend? I don't know what's the proper term but that's what you meant to me.
Are you really going to leave me hanging?
I'm still waiting. Still hurting here. But I'll still wait.
Goodnight Susan."
Auf Wiedershen people!
